AWG-SF Updated the Social Forestry Initiative in Climate Change

Mrs. Erna Rosdiana, the Director of Social Forestry Area Preparation, Ministry of Environment and Forestry Indonesia, in her capacity as the AWG-SF Chair reported the Social Forestry initiative to the 10th Steering Committee on Climate Change and Food Security that held on 29 July 2021, through video conference. The Meeting was chaired by H.E. Dr. Prum Somany, SOM-AMAF Chair.

SF has contributed to climate change, mitigation and adaptation through various approach. SF contribute to reduce emission from deforestation, degraded forest, and conserve carbon stock in forest, applied agroforestry for food security and improve economic livelihood and positive impact to reduce the forest fires, illegal logging and reduce land conflict.
